Temple Implants

What are Temple Implants?

As we age, lose weight, or after injuries, we can develop hollow temples on the sides of the head. This is can be fixed with fat grafting or dermal fillers but these are temporary solution. For a long-lasting solution, you would need a temple implant, which will give you a more youthful appearance. The implant is made out of silicone and it is placed next to the muscle and deep enough so it feels natural.

Are You A Candidate for Temple Implants?

During your visit with Dr. Tamim, he will evaluate you and come up with the right treatment plan that fits your needs. Ideal candidates for temple implants would be a person who has a hollow temple either genetically, through an injury, after significant weight loss, or simply due to aging. Surgical Technique

Temple implant surgery is done under IV sedation/general anesthesia in one of our operating rooms. It is generally done through a small incision near the hairline, we then create a pocket near the muscle. Closure is done with resorbable sutures.

What to Expect

Most patients see immediate results after temple implant placement. And in general, recovery time is around 1-2 weeks. During that time, you will experience some swelling, soreness, bruising, and skin tightness. You will have to avoid strenuous activities for the first 3-5 days.  You are expected to see your optimal results in about one month following surgery. You will be provided with a detailed post-op instructions to ensure proper healing.
